It’s been a good minute since I have posted anything on here so I thought I would give a little update on what’s been happening this year! 2016 has been a crazy year for me and some big changes are happening in my life. I got accepted to the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Spring and in three weeks I will be moving to Hawaii! The plan is to live in Honolulu while I finish school over the next two years and continue to do web and graphic design for work while I am there. I will be finally finishing my degree in Graphic Design and I could not be more excited for this new adventure! Living in Hawaii has always been on my bucket list and I have been playing with the idea of moving for years so I’m stoked to finally make the leap. Alooooha!
I rented a duplex in Honolulu (with two roommates who I have yet to meet in person lol) and have been back and forth a bit to get my place set up before I arrive for good. We were super lucky to find this duplex that is close to campus, includes parking, has a yard, and cheaper than most apartments in the area. It has everything I wanted so I’m super stoked to live here for the next year! It is so weird hopping over to Hawaii and not having to book a hotel but so rad to have a little home in my favorite place in the world. Things are starting to feel real now that I have my place set up and my move in date is fast approaching. I feel like I already have a good feel for the island from visiting so much over the years and I already know my way around which makes things so much easier. Overall I have had the best time exploring my new home and settling into island life. I got to meet up with some old friends who already live here and have already met so many new people! I am starting to pick up on how the locals live and can already tell I am going to love life here. The weather is perfection, the people are incredible, and the aloha spirit is alive and well.
Home sweet home. Say hello to my little surf shack!
Can I tell you how stoked I am for school to start in August? The campus is absolutely beautiful, so green and is everything I dreamed of when thinking about where I wanted to go to school. These next two years are going to fly by and although I can not wait to be done with school, I could not have asked for a better place to finish my time in college. I can’t wait for the other transfer students to arrive in a few weeks so I can start meeting everyone! So many beach days and new adventures are in my near future so I will definitely be updating the blog more and showing you guys what island life is all about. CHEHOO!
My new campus!! So in love with it here. It rains almost every day, it’s extremely green, and the campus is absolutely beautiful.
I’ll be here if you need me…
Sailboats at Lanikai Beach. One of my favorite spots!
I swear the north shore has the best sunsets. Waimea bay was incredible the other day.
